App. to communicate with Zabbix from host computer?

I need to know if theres a software/app./utility that will communicate with Zabbix from a host computer?

What I'm trying to do is monitor a network that is on cable service in which the WAN IP resides in the cloud so if the modem is power off the IP is still pinging...


I need a way to monitor the circuit/service. Any Ideas or assistance would be highly appreciated.

About Zabbix agent

What kind of things can Zabbix agent do? I installed it on a windows laptop and then input that host with all the correct information on the server side.

It says monitored under hosts but I don't see any graphs or anything.. If I turn off that windows workstation will Zabbix alarm or is there some additional configuration needed?
