Monitoring individual IPMI values -> Not supported

    Hi,

I have been trying to search the fora and Google for quite a bit, but could not find a good answer.

I would like to monitor ProLiant DL360 G6 machines using IPMI on the iLO 2 card that's installed. (firmware 2.05) Using the command line I get propper responses, for example on line of output:
    Code:
    ipmitool -H HOSTNAME -U USERNAME-P PASSWORD -I lanplus -L ADMINISTRATOR sdr
    Power Meter | 124 Watts | cr
In Zabbix I have added the IPMI details to the host, and the IPMI icon is green. On the IPMI card, I see a successful login.

I am adding the items in a template with the "IPMI Sensor" set to "Power Meter" and "Type of information" set to "Numeric float".

This item keeps on going to "Not supported".

Several sensors work: "Temp 1" through "Temp 28" for example. Other sensors don't work, like "Power Supply" (which is not discrete).

Here is somebody with the same problem, but no solution.

Does anybody know how to set this up, or if I make some stupid mistake?

    Regards,

    Robert de Bock.

    Hi Robert,

I am starting to setup zabbix to monitor iLo devices, can you tell me any documentation on how to setup the items on zabbix?

Have you any examples to show?

I was thinking in create a HP iLo template for zabbix, and, send it back to the community when i got it working.

      Only "Temp ?" supported.

Currently (1.8.10) the implementation of Zabbix's IPMI and HP ILO has a big drawback; only the "Temp 1" through "Temp 28" are supported. All the other "interesting" meters can be polled using external scripts.

Login to your ILO card on the webinterface, set these settings:
      Administration >> Settings >> Access:
      IPMI/DCMI over LAN: Enabled

Setup hosts in Zabbix like this:
      • Use IPMI: yes
      • IPMI IP address: hostname of IP address of the ILO card
      • IPMI Port: 623
      • IPMI authentication algorithm: default
      • IPMI privilege level: Admin
      • IPMI username: Administrator
      • IPMI password: Your ILO's password.

Set these items up like this:
      • Type: IPMI Agent
      • IPMI Sensor: Temp 8
      • Type of information: Decimal
