Zabbix templates

Hi,

First of all I would like to escuse myself for my basic english, I am french...

I am new on zabbix, my company would like to use it to monitore a medium/large scale network.
I need to familiarize on templates to be able to make precise monitoring, but there are things I don't understand :

I would like to Make a basic Linux template, so i have exported the template "Template_Linux" which is too complicated for my servers. So I have removed all items, triggers and graphs that I don't need and I am trying to re-import it.

If I left Host Element on the import, I have no message from Zabbix, the screen stay gray, like nothing happen.
If I remove Host Element on the import, I have a message "Imported successfully", but the template did not change...

First question :
Can I just import a template file without host category ? I mean without all these things:

<hosts>
		<host name="Template_Linux">
			<proxy_hostid>0</proxy_hostid>
			<useip>0</useip>

And then link host one by one to this template ?

Second question :
Can I remove a template from zabbix ? I can't find a section to remove tempalte.
