    Find "Not Supported" items

    Is there a way to list the items that are Not Supported without having to go into every host and check the lits of items. I often get items that flip to Not Supported, but finding what they are is difficult. (1.8.10)

    Thanks,

    Will

    Click on Configure->Hosts
    Now click on Items for any host
    Now click on Filter and the filter options will appear
    Change the Status drop down to Not Supported and clear the Host field.
    Now click the Filter button

    All unsupported items on your zabbix server should now be listed.

      Thanks for replying, but this doesn't really answer my question.

      If I look at the dashboard, it says I have x number of items not supported.

      Now if I have 100 hosts, it would be very long winded to open every host to find the one with the not supported item.

      So, my question - is there a way to find the items that are Not Supported without having to go into every host.

      Thanks,

      Will

          Thanks, but I have googled it, but no such luck - hence asking in the forum. A you a troll? Your first post on a forum is to tell someone that you don't know the answer? Strange.

          Anyone have any ideas as to how the problem could be solved?

          Thanks

            You didn't read what I said. If you follow my instructions it will show you not supported items for all hosts. Note the bit where I said clear the host field in the filter

                Very Good.

                Not the most helpful of tone, but definately one of the most helpful posts, thanks both.

                  Go with the DB queries

                  Hi Friend,

                  I may not explained it clearly but follow this.
                  1. Login to your Zabbix DB. I am using mariadb
                  2. Run the mysql query as follows.
                  > use zabbix;
                  > select itemid,name,error from items where error != "";
                  3. This will display the items which has errors means not supported.
                  4. Sample Output will like below.
                  | 31239 | Zabbix $4 $2 processes, in %| No "ipmi poller" processes started.|
                  | 31240 | Zabbix $4 $2 processes, in %| No "java poller" processes started.|
                  5. You may modify the sql query as per your needs.

                  Hope it will helps you.

                    This is easy to do without having to do SQL queries directly against the DB if you follow the steps provided by ahowell upthread.

                    I do wish there was a more direct way to get to the item filter, however. As it is now, you have to navigate to the item list for an individual host, and only *then* do you get the full filter for items - you just need to be sure to clear the "Hosts" field of the filter if you want to see unsupported items across *all* hosts at once.

                    This is a very useful filter, and there should be a more intuitive way to get to it. Of course, once you figure it out the first time, then it's easy. It's just not obvious to people that haven't found it before.

                      Thanks a lot to knaveen.one!
                      There my version of query:
                      select host,items.name,items.error from hosts inner join items on items.hostid = hosts.hostid where items.error != '';

                      Host | Item name | Error

                      very useful query for me

                        That query no longer works; the schema has changed. Anyone know what a current working sql query for this would be?

                          Hello, I know the topic is old, but I want to leave how to find it here for those who arrive here and know. According to my research I found a page explaining easily. Link ( https://www.oreilly.com/library/view...6832be12.xhtml )

                          Reviewing unsupported items

                          The items that tell us about the number of unsupported items either for the whole Zabbix installation or for a specific host are useful and tell us when things aren't good. But what exactly isn't good? There's a very easy way to review the unsupported item list in the frontend. Follow these steps:
                          1. Navigate to Configuration | Hosts, click on any of the Items links, and expand the item filter. Clear out any host, host group, or other filter option that's there, and look at the right-hand side of the filter.
                          2. In the State drop-down menu, choose Not supported and click on Filter.

                          This will display all of the unsupported items in this Zabbix instance. Note that we may not display all items in all states like this;
