    Triggers not emailing

    Hi All,
I have an issue where triggers are not being emailed to users. It only happens on certain hosts and triggers.
For example, currently trigger "CPU Utilisation too high on xyz" is meant to be emailed to user "A" and "B". The trigger has been triggered, and it appears on the dashboard, but in the actions row, there is a "-", no email sent.

But ff I go into that host and clone that exact trigger with a different name, it automatically appears on the dashboard and sends the emails to the correct users.

This has been hapenning more and more recently, and with over 12000 triggers defined, I am finding that I have to do the cloning workaround quite often.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi

I might have the same problem I have the VM appliance of zabbix.

And I can't get any emails to be sent at all.

I have configure email media, I have user it is meant for.

and I have an action setup, basically, my understanding is if any trigger is triggered if the host group <> zabbix server then send mail... but nothing

I see on the dashboard lots of red and stuff

but in admin / notifications nothing ..

This similar problems about no actions with triggers were confused me for a long time. And now we are all okay with them.

      For my experience:
      1. check the action you defined is correct.
      2. is the zabbix overload? It is occurred to us that trigger is showed on dashboard but no action produced(random incidents). After our patch zabbix code to solve the high concurrency, all action-with-trigger works well. You can check if your zabbix performance is Okay.
      3. Adminitration-Audit, it can review your actions

        1. i believe so but being a newbie I am unsure ! I created a new trigger and used all the defaults, added in a action operations - which is send email

I encountered same problem with zabbix 1.8.10:

"the trigger appears on the dashboard, but in the actions row, there is a "-".

Actually I had made it working before with 1.8.6. and now I'm setting up a new server with 1.8.10.

          Any hint?

just found the answer for my problem: the user which send the email/alarm must at least have the 'read' permission on the hosts which generate the triggers!

please check if you have same situation!

great experience. for that alex has mentioned 'don't see anything in here for now except login for guest failed...', I think alex should check the permission.

                Hi

Thanks for the replies sorry for the long delay.

The user has admin right. as in the destination email.

I set up a new action, that send to a trigger group, that has a user which has admin rights !

I should point out I like testing things as I type. so i check the group and it didn't have read permissions ! so now I have set it to all read

but i would have thought I would have seen something in the notifications page -

as for the login failed. that was the zabbix web monitoring checking itself with a guest login that failed !

Thank you, read permission did it. I am not being bombarded with emails
