Zabbix missing inputs with lots of external scripts.

    Hi.

I noticed that zabbis have a hard time to process data if you have lots of external scripts.

What can I do to help/configure zabbix not to miss inputs from SNMP or scripts?

(I got like 30 external scripts running wgets and other data collecting)

Is there any kind of tweak? (when I turn off som external wget scripts the problem goes away)

Could be a couple different things.

SNMP uses UDP so there won't be retransmit if the packet errors or get dropped.
-With your external scripts running you might be able monitor your interfaces and look for drops and errors.

Another possibility is you need to increase the number of trappers on your server.

Last, are your scripts taking priority over zabbix?

Considert or test switching from external scripts to zabbix trapper item types. This should give less load. You can use zabbix_sender to send the output from your scripts into zabbix (from cronjobs) - use the input file option. You can do this from your zabbix server (or agent hosts). Trapper types will also not "time out" waiting for data.
