    hrStorageSize["index","hrStorageDescr","/"]

    given that
    ifInOctets["index","ifDescr","eth0"]
    does work
    any ideas why
    hrStorageSize["index","hrStorageDescr","/"]
    hrStorageSize["index","hrStorageDescr","/var/log"]
    doesn't work ?? Do the slashes need to be escaped or treated special in some way ?

    error in log is
    hrStorage.root] became not supported: Cannot find index [hrStorageDescr] of the OID [hrStorageSize["index","hrStorageDescr","/"]]: NOT FOUND: hrStorageDescr[/]
    familycourt.gov.au:hrStorage.var_log] became not supported: Cannot find index [hrStorageDescr] of the OID [hrStorageSize["index","hrStorageDescr","/var/log"]]: NOT FOUND: hrStorageDescr[/v
    (yes the line is cut short in the log)

    i am assuming the word "index" is some indicator to zabbix.

    thanks in advance

    grrrrr

    HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageSize["index","HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageDescr","/"]

    very annoying.

    snmpwalk (on the zabbix server) can resolve hrStorageSize etc, why can't zabbix ? !!!!!

      Make sure you have a /etc/snmp/snmp.conf with a mibs entry

      something like

      mibs +BLADE-MIB
      mibs +SUN-PLATFORM-MIB

      e.g. mibs +HOST-RESOURCES-MIB

      then restart the zabbix server

      That works for me.

        no data

        ok, i'll do that. for now, however, there is only a zero being returned or occasional silly numbers like 432.

        snmpwalk returns
        HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageSize.31 = INTEGER: 3870200
        HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageUsed.31 = INTEGER: 1592710
        for the root filesystem

        i am wanting to use this and not hrStorageUsed.31, as that is only root on SLES11 systems. other systems seem to have them all over the place.

        it would be nice to not have to have a different template for each variation of an O/S.
