Log File Displayed to Web Front End

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to have the text from a log file displayed on the web front end. Does the user parameter "log['file.log']" do this, or does that only let me search for a string in the file?

If this is not possible what information can Zabbix display regarding a log file.

Any help or feedback is appreciated!

From GUI:
MOnitoring - Latest data - select you host, find log item and click on "History"
Or make a screen with Resource "Plain text"

How do I set up a log item? Do I do it in the zabbix_agentd.conf, in the gui or both?

Also do I need to enter a "pattern to match" since I'm not trying to match a pattern, I want to see all text from the file. Would it be log[/path/file.log]

Item config:

(sec. 2.3.2) - type have to be "zabbix agent (active)", and type of information "log"
You do not need to enter a "pattern to match".

Not working

This shows that there is no output (bottom left):


Any idea what is going wrong??
