Trends' question

Hello, i'm new to Zabbix and I've installed the 1.0 version.

I read the threads on the forum about capacity planning but it didn't help me..

I'd like to know how works the trends option in the "latest values" part.
We can set it to 15min, 30 min ,hour, ..., 12 hours but i don't understand how it works and what it means..



Is the trends option the way to help identifying bottlenecks in system performance or is there another way to see the prediction for the next month or next year ?

Hi,
I've installed zabbix 1.1 beta8 too and so i used both version for testing.

I would like to know why the developpers decided not to put the "trend" and "compare" option in the 1.1 version ?
