snmp MIB

Hi,

I’ve installed zabbix 1.8.11 from source on ubuntu and I’ve a problem with snmp item.
If I add an snmp item with oid (for example 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.12) it works correctly.
If I add the same item with oid by name (for example interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifInOctets.12) it NOT works! It return this error:
“snmp error [(noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB.]”

Can you help me?

try it with

IF-MIB::ifInOctets.12

Also try

sudo apt-get install snmp-mibs-downloader

on the Target host.

It works!

I've installed
sudo apt-get install snmp-mibs-downloader

then I've edit snmp.conf file:
Edit /etc/snmp/snmp.conf, and comment the line 'mibs :'.
