    Memory problem

    Hi fellas,

    My zabbix
SW - zabbix 1.8.10, innoDB MySQL, Ubuntu Server 10.04.4 LTS
    HW - IntelAtom D525 1,8GHz, 1GB RAM, 320GB hdd

is running about one week and there are about 200 hosts with ICMP ping item and few SNMP checks. My question is, why size of free RAM memory is only ~40MB. Is it bug or feature of zabbix. :-) Or the problem is in configuration of any other application.

Only mysql, zabbix, webmin, smtp server (postfix) is running on the PC.

    Thanks.

It is not a bug.... call it a feature. MYSQL will use as much memory as it feels it needs, as it caches the database in memory as far as allowed.

I currently have 12GBs of RAM in my server, it reports 180MB free.

And have you any experience with postgres? Has it the same behaviour like mysql?

          Hi,

I analyzed my server in detail. And I found out the mysql processes have only 156MB and processes zabbix_server have allocated 1,26GB. Is it still feature? :-)

The other thing to look at is how many processes is Zabbix spawning...
