    Zabbix load to high??

    Hello,

    First problem

We have a Zabbix 1.8.6 server. Monitoring 241 hosts, 9137 items and 3121 triggers.
We see high values in the queues. Would a zabbix Proxy server be a solution?

Is it correct if you look at the pics of the queue that 6 zabbix agent items had to wait more than 10 min for a answer?

    Second problem

At night a lot of servers become unreachable in zabbix but this is not correct. (we use the host.status item)
We think that it could be the fault of backups and Virus scans on the servers we monitor that take all the cpu.
Are there other people having problems witch backups or virus scans?

    All help appreciated

Start to get some statestics and look at these links:
In the past, quite often Zabbix users have been puzzled regarding some server tuning parameters – for example, how many pollers do they need? It was usually determined based on experience, testing and a bit of guesstimating. No more fuzzy attempts – get hard facts with Zabbix 1.8.5. UPDATED 2011.11.02: new downloadable template version v2 […]

Maybe you just need to increase some pollers ...
There is also other posts on this in the forum.

You may already know, but based on the screen shot you sent, the Poller value that you may need to increase would be StartPollers in zabbix_server.conf.

Another thing to check is to see what the load average is on your Zabbix server. If it's high, then you may need to look at better hardware or investigate if there are hardware issues.
