Multiple Updates

I have 800 computers in diferrent host groups and I want to update them all at the same time to advanced settings (when down change ICON, when disbaled change ICON etc).

Can I do this? all in one go?

I see 2 options :
sql-fu : directly modify the configuration in the database , or

script-fu : looking at the API to make the changes by script ...
