    1.1beta8 and Actions

    Hello,

    I just installed Zabbix 1.1beta8 for testing Monitoring via SNMP.
    The monitoring works fine, the data are updated and graphic also shown well.
    Now I want to inform myself, if something goes wrong.

    So I created a Trigger:
    Code:
    Name: TestTrigger
    Expression: {Host.SNMP:laLoad1.last(0)}>1.00
    No Deps.
    Severity: Information
    Comments: Load is over 1 on {HOSTNAME}
    No URL
    And its enabled
    This trigger works fine. It is true if the load on my Testserver ist over 1.00.

    Now I configured an Action:
    Code:
    Action Type: Send message
    Source: Trigger
    Conditions: Trigger = "TestTrigger" and Trigger value = ON
    Delay: 30 secs
    Send Message to Group: Networker (where I am in)
    Subject: {TRIGGER.NAME}: {STATUS}
    Message: {TRIGGER.NAME}: {STATUS}
    No Repeats and Enabled
    And this does not work. It don't send a message.

    What have I to do? The Manual or other Help does not really helped me.

    Sunny Greetings...

    You'll receive a message when the trigger changes its status from FALSE to TRUE. Make sure that user medias and media types are defined correctly.

      Hello,

      ok, I waited now, until the trigger had the status FALSE, and made some load in the Machine. The Trigger changed from FALSE to TRUE, which I can also see in "Events". But there is no action at all.

      My Media-Type Settings for Email is:

      Type: Email
      SMTP-Server, SMTP-helo: localhost
      SMTP-email: [email protected]

      And my Media is:
      Type: eMail
      Send To: [email protected]
      When active: 1-7,00:00-23:59
      Status: Enabled

      But there is still no Mails sent.

        Hello,

        it looks like, that there is a bug if i use in Actions.contitions Trigger = "TriggerName". I removed it, and now zabbix try to send a mail. But now I have the Problem, that on my Server SMTP-Auth is needed to send a mail. How can I do that?

        Sunny Greetings...

          so you removed trigger=triggername, what did you use instead? can anyone else verify this bug?

          as for ident, that would be the responsibility of the local MTA on your zabbix server. Try running sendmail or exim locally.

              I can verify this problem too on 1.1.beta9. I used "Trigger description like triggername" instead of "trigger=triggername"

              thanks

                The problem is already fixed in CVS.
