MySQL upgrade from 1.8.5 to 2.0, no failure but still got an error.. is it a failure?

    Good afternoon,

I am quite new to Zabbix and I really want to learn and get used to the Zabbix 2.0 system... I have a Zabbix 1.8.5 and when I ran the patch.sql for MySQL, I got a message after 4,5 hours of waiting, saying:

"ERROR 1558 (HY000) at line 825: Column count of mysql.proc is wrong. Expected 20, found 16. Created with MySQL 50077, now running 50158. Please use mysql_upgrade to fix this error"

There are 2 things which confuse me at the moment... I didn't get any messages saying "failed to patch Zabbix database, please restore from backup" like other people have had, so has it failed or not is my question.. And if it has failed, can I have a suggestion how to fix this issue ?

The second thing is.. I have the feeling that the number 50158, which appeared in the error message has something to do with my current version of MySQL (5.1.58-2). Is this assumption of mine correct?

Thank you very much in advance,

    Regards,

    Vitli

yep this is a mysql upgrade issue, not related to zabbix.

mysql uses mysql to store data, when upgrading from one version to another, you have to run mysql_upgrade so the mysql schema is ... welll ... upgraded.

I did run that mysql_upgrade before I did the patching it said that the database is up to date..

Thank you for the quick reply but I'll revert my system back to 1.8.5 since that was working till now and I'll just wait for the more experienced people to try it out and say their opinions for the version 2.0

Maybe when I decide to install 2.0 I'll reinstall the whole system, just to get rid of everything which is unneeded and troublesome and just migrate the old database from 1.8.5 to 2.0
