    process fails after completing startup?

    Hello;

    I'm new to Zabbix, and am trying to get it up and running for evaluation purposes. I'm tinkering with 1.1b9 on RH Enterprise 3, and it is doing the oddest thing:

    012609:20060427:111402 In housekeeping_alerts(1146154442)
    012609:20060427:111402 Executing query:select alert_history from config

    It finishes starting up and its housekeeping, goes to sleep and immediately then dies. No one is sending a kill to any of the processes. The only odd bits about my configuration are that i'm using mysql 5 and this is a VMWare instance instead of a physical box.

    I don't have any other output being generated, so I'm at a loss as to what to try next. Any advise would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mark

      you've got mail. (unless exchange is down. Again...)

      Any luck reproducing the problem?

        Unfortunately the log file gave no clue. I do not know why ZABBIX server decided to die.

        Did you run it on a fresh database?

          Ran on a clean install of mysql 5.0. Am reverting back down to the 4 branch, and shall try dropping net-snmp next in the build.

          After that, I'm out of ideas. all the other libs are standard RH E3.

            Rebuilt using the mysql 4.1.18 rpm's, and its running. I guess I've stumbled onto some sort of incompatibility with 5.0.

            Thanks for the help!
