    Trigger Help

Hey everyone. I have a trigger setup for a value of 2 on dot1dStpPortState. The port state is represented as a numerical value (1-6). The issue I seem to be having is that when numerical value goes from 1 to 5 and 5 to 1 it can average out to a 2 which then causes the trigger to fire off. I am thinking I am missing something quite simple. I appreciate the input!

    Here is my trigger.

    {Template_HP_Procurve:BRIDGE_MIB__dot1dStpPortStat e.2.last(0)}=2

Im not using average so i am completely confused on how this is even being triggered. When looking at the graph for the port I recently received an alerts on the graph never hits a value of 2.

Are you still having this problem? Show the alert you're receiving, the full trigger and action config plus the item config.

Also, show conclusively that the item is never receiving a value of 2.

      Regards,
      David

Yep I am still having this issue, but it doesn't seem to happen to often.

From the looks of the graph it never hits a two.

We just had another false alarm on this. The average ended up hitting 2 and kicking off the trigger even though the value never hit 2.

The images you're posting are too small. I can't read the text.

Yea I keep saving them in paint and they end up tiny. Not sure how to make them larger. Let me see what I can find.
