Priority of overlapping elements on Map - 2.0

    Hello,

I am running 2.0.0 (which is an outstanding piece of work, thank you Zabbix!!!).
On a few of my maps I have placed the generic rack icon, and the have placed host icons "in" the rack - in essence trying to make the map appear to have racked servers.

I have many server icons which get layered "behind" the rack, with a couple that appear "in front" of the rack in the display. Attached is a sample screenshot.

Can anyone tell me how to force the rack to be the "back" element with the layered images? I am not quite sure how I managed to get a single server to appear as the top layered racked element.

    Regards,
    Mike

I ran into this very same situation with the rack and servers.

The way it appears to work is that the first element onto the map will be the background image. So if you want servers to appear to be in the rack, then the rack will have the be the first element placed on the map.

The next problem with that, though... you cannot click on the server for anything (ping, traceroute), because the map has you clicking whatever the first element was. Catch-22.

I suspect that the server that appears to be "mounted" on your screenshot was added after you placed the rack. But you will also find you cannot click on that server, while the ones that appear to be behind the rack are clickable.

I just checked this and you are absolutely correct. I suppose for the sake of usability (I don't wish to lose the ability to click a host only to have it appear prettier) I'll leave my hosts as the "background" objects for the time being.

Not sure if I'd consider this a bug, perhaps a feature request for map enhancement in a future release.

Thanks very much for confirming this.
