    Evaluating Zabbix: vmdk appliance failing

I'm trying to evaluate Zabbix for my company as a replacement of our current infrastructure monitoring system. I downloaded the v2.0.0 vmdk appliance and set it up to run in virtual box. It boots fine and when I point my browser to the vm's IP, I get the following error:

    Constant ZBX_PAGE_NO_MENU already defined [warning.php:29]

    Zabbix is temporarily unavailable!

How am I to fix this and why is it happening in the first place?

this seems to happen to some people, although we've been unable to reproduce it so far.
if you retry at a later time, or reboot the virtual machine, does it work ok ?

Installed vmware player and it loads fine through that. I also had to swap out my cpu because it didn't support virtualization (for a different vmdk).

Same here - Evaluating Zabbix: vmdk appliance failing

            Hi guys,

I am really very new to Zabbix, but I got my VirtualBox up and running, working like a dream... But when I try to access the WebApp, I get this error:

            "Constant ZBX_PAGE_NO_MENU already defined [warning.php:29]"

And underneath that in a red box:

            "Zabbix is temporarily unavailable!"

Any idea what I can do to get this fixed?

            PLEASE

            Thanks in advance!

                    hello

                    I had the same problem.
I think you have just to create database zabbix following the installation guide :

                    http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/...all/db_scripts

                    regards.

for those who have it failing, could you please log in as root and execute :
                      Code:
echo "show tables;" | mysql zabbix
                      what's the result ?
