    Status "Not supported"

    Hey. I'm new to Zabbix and having difficulties on post-install. Server- and Client-installation happened without a glich using online-manual. Adding hosts was also easy, Status on all of them is set to Monitored.
    My only problem is that I do not have any Triggers or anything. As far as I can see, the problem lies in Items. None of the added hosts are Active in Status, they all are set to "Not Supported".

    What is it that I'm missing? Help, help please.

    I had similar issue:

    the resolution was to increase the following entry in your php.ini file and restart.

    memory_limit=8M

    changed to

    memory_limit=16M

    hope that helps

    sorry I may have jumped the gun there but try it anyway and report back...if it does not help I'll try to walk you through some things....(Y)

      Unfortunately it didn't work. It did made the frontend reply faster, but the problem remains.
      I've tried to do a fresh install of zabbix with pkg_add on my FreeBSD, just to see if there is any difference, but it's the same...

        just asking but have you made sure the zabbix_agent or zabbix_agentd is running on all your hosts and have you linked your hosts to a template? If you are using snmp can the server access the clients?

          I'm using zabbix_agentd and they seem to work properly. When I look under Hosts, I can see that all of the servers I have, are set to "Monitored". I didn't install snmp, do I need to do this?
          The first server I'm trying to configure runs both server and agent; could this be an issue? They don't use the samme ports...
          I haven't been abble to set any UserParameters; is this neccesary or does zabbix have some defaults it monitors?

          I also found this in zabbix_suckerd.log: Parameter [1] is not supported by agent on host...
          What does it mean?

            I'm also new to zabbix, but could reply to your post: both the zabbix_server and the zabbix_agentd are running on the same box without problem. I did not had to configure the UserParameters to get it running. These should only be used for more specialised things.

            You're not confusing the zabbix_agent and the zabbix_agentd (with D)?

              No, I'm 100% that I'm using zabbix_agentd

                you do not need to set up tany UserParameters yet. Have you copied over the zabbix_agentd.conf file to /etx/zabbix/zabbix_agentd.conf? and edited it to reflect your specific setup?

                from a console you could run: zabbix_agentd -p and check the opoutput....post it here if you can

                  No output whatsoever :S.

                    well!

                    if you do ps -ef |grep zabbix
                    what do you get?

                    check your /etc/zabbix/zabbix_agentd.conf file...

                        I read somewhere that zabbix isn't all that good at running both server and agent on same mashine.

                        Is this the truth? I sure hope it's not, then I can't use it
