Zabbix data for Solaris memory seems incorrect

    Hi

Is anyone using Zabbix version 2.0 to monitor Solaris 10
We have a problem where the memory reply comes back as EB
and also the it is either consuming it all or almost nothing.

    Please can someone assist urgently.

Yes happens for us too on some Solaris boxes. I think it's a Solaris bug

I have one Solaris 10 box reporting in to a test Zabbix 2.0.1 server and am not seeing that issue.

What item key are you using to get that metric? I am using the stock "Free Memory" item as shown below. And below that you can see a one month graph.

Available memory happens on several of our Solaris boxes

I will add the item you are using and see how it performs.

Ok, so I took my "free memory" item and simply cloned it, replacing [free] with [available]. Leaving all other settings as-is.

I can confirm what you are seeing as per the graphs below.Out of curiosity, I added the "free" item and the "available" item into one graph to see how it would react. if I were you, I would abandon using the "available" key and switch over to using the "free" key for the time being.

Then out of further curiosity (Final graph), I added in "Total memory", and moved the Y axis to the right side of the graph for the "Total" and "Free" metrics, and left the "Available" metric on the left side. Interesting results. The "Available" metric to totally skewed.
