Can Zabbix Be Configured To Not Send Email Until

trigger has been tripped more than once on a certain time frame ?

I have a trigger set so when CPU is over 80% utilization it sends an email.

We have some machines that will spike depending on what command is used but they will stay above 80% for less than 45 seconds.

SO within a 45 second window we will get the problem email and then the ok email.

Is there a way that the email won't be set unless the utilization doesn't correct in say a minute ?

Not sure if anybody has ever used ActivExperts but that can be configured that an email won't be sent unless the condition fails twice or more.

Create a custom trigger, and then use that for your "action" to send the alert.

Zabbix triggers are very flexible. If you only want this for an individual host, then go to Configuration --> Hosts, find your host in the list and click on "triggers" under the Trigger column. At the top right, click on "Create Trigger"

Name your trigger and click on "Add" as seen in the below screenshot. That will give you a pop-up of options. From there you can pick whatever parameters you desire.

I selected if processor total time is over 80% for 60 seconds, and you can see the construction syntax that it produces.

You can also explore the usage of "count" instead of using "seconds", or I believe you could chain them together.

      Thanks tchjts1

Trying to get the hang of these expressions are somewhat difficult.

That is exactly what I was looking for.

If anybody has a reqource that really goes into depth on creating expressions for items and triggers I would appreciate it.

      Thanks again
