    SNMP Option

Is SNMP option available only for network or for servers also? I don't want to deploy agents on clients. I would like to monitor the logs and server using SNMP, is it doable? If not, what are my options? Please advice.

SNMP monitoring can gether data from any SNMP device. I use for network infrastructure, printers, servers, UPSes, etc.

If you do not want agents, you can also make checks via ssh from the zabbix server.

Be aware that snmp will give your less monitor possibilities then an agent and more config and maintain work. But for simple cpu, disk, process monitoring etc. snmp can be ok.

Use syslog for log monitoring - send syslog to a central syslog server. With a zabbix agent on that server you can make a easy integration with zabbix. Someone have also make a syslog addon to zabbix - look in the cookbook section of the forum.
