Zabbix Frontend Web GUI over SSL

So, I have Zabbix up and running on my network, and I wanted to access it over SSL. I turned on SSL under apacche2 via the "apache2 startssl" command but I cannot access Zabbix that way. The regular server is still up on port 80 when I do that, so its not an issue with zabbix

I temporariliy disabled all iptables and tcpdump shows my SSL requests being recieved and answered.

However, IE just comes back null and FireFox gives me "ssl_error_rx_record_too_long"

This sound like an apache issue, but I suspect there is something different with the way apache is setup in the pre-installed appliance.

In eithercase, I don't know what I am missing? Can anyone give me a few pointers?

For reference this is the current Zabbix 2.0.0 VMware appliance version.

    Bump?

Did you ever get this worked out? I'm running the VMWare appliance as well, and I'll be damned if I can get https working. I've made the allowance in the firewall, and created the junk/testing certs with openssl. Now what?

I wound up just setting up an Ubuntu box, since that's what I'm familiar with. HTTPS is working, as is LDAP auth.
