    Description of Trigger elements

This has probably been asked before I just can't seem to find it. I have looked at the Docs and it is not explained.

What I would like to know are the elements in the Trigger key.

I understand most, the main thing I'd like to know is the section in quotes below.

    Item:
Process MS SQL not running on Host.Win32

    Trigger:
    {Host.Win32roc_cnt[sqlservr.exe].last("4")}<1

Does the 4 mean that the last 4 readings have to be less than 1? If not, how do you get it to look at the last several values? I am getting quite a bit of false positives and would like to have at least the last 2 values looked at before being paged/emailed.

If this is not the correct way to look at the last values, please help this noob out with the solution.

    Thx for any replies.
    R.

    Use something like:
    {Host.Win32: proc_cnt[sqlservr.exe].max(#4)}=0 or {Host.Win32: proc_cnt[sqlservr.exe].max(600)}=0

    Parameter for last() is ignored.

      A.

Thanks for Zabbix and thanks for the quick reply.

Is the .xxx(max, last) documented anywhere? If so, just point me to the docs and I'll quit bugging you . . .

What does the #4 do? or max(600).

I know, I know, nothing but the questions.

It's just, I've been using Zabbix for quite some time now(switched from Nagios and never looked back) straight out of the box and would like to start tweaking it a little. That, and I want to stop the false positives. If you have a better idea how to do that, I'm open for suggestions.

When I change the key to:
          {Host.Win32_IP21roc_cnt[ip21serv.exe].max(120)}=0
          or
          {Host.Win32_IP21roc_cnt[sqlservr.exe].min(120)}<1

The monitoring/general blocks for that key go grey. Does this mean that it is not being monitored? I can change it back to .last(0) and they go green but I get the flood of false 'on' pages/emails.

Am I trying to do something that is not a feature yet?

they go to grey state (unknown) until they actually change state. force a failure or change the trigger value manually to false in the db and you should be ok

the # prefix means number of checks so #4 means the last 4 checks regardless of interval

Thanks elkor, that makes sense to me(the #4 and the state change).

              thanks again.
