How can I restrict user groups to view selected host groups

Hello all,
I need to restrict certain users (user groups) so that they can and interact with only certain hosts (host groups). Does anybody know how to do this? Any help would be much appreciated.

as admin click [configure] / [user] / <username>

there you can deny access by default and then only allow to watch certain host- and/or item ids.

AFAIK, there's no way to deny/allow access to whole host groups...
