icmpping - question: how it works?

Hi all,

I haven't found information about it in documentation about fping.
I don't understand how it's working exactly... I create ITEM on one of my host as Simple check (icmpping). This host hasen't fping but it works.

Should be? I don't understand which host ping. Zabbix server through Host or host itself? If host itself how it possible if it hasn't fping. In log aggent, even in debug mode I don't see nothing odd or some error, just nothing about it.

Zabbix server is responsible for the processing of simple checks (making external connections, etc).
