Host of line for N Days

Hi!

I want to create one trigger that send an alert if a host has no contact for more than N days. In other words, if zabbix can`t connect to the agent or dont receive ping.

any ideas how to do this?

Read the Doc?

Standard 'Template App Zabbix Agent' (zabbix 2.0) have such functionality.

Look on trigger named like: Zabbix agent on {HOST.NAME} is unreachable for 5 minutes

Im using 1.8 so i dont try to read 2.0 doc

But i solved this creating a trigger icmpping.max(n*24*60*60,0)

In 1.8 is the same template and the same trigger.

Your solution is performance disaster !!
You will kill your database if you have a lot of host.

Use the ".nodata" function !

Thanks for the tip! I will read the docs for better sollution

I never tryed to think about trigger performance, there is somewhere i can test this type of shit before put to work? (read the doc? Lol)

Think...
Every time the new data came, trigger has to query database for MAX period of time, the longer period, the worst performance.
This is like: SELECT MAX(data) FROM history WHERE ...............
