From an active check zabbix agent, zabbix Server is not getting data.

    From an active check zabbix agent, zabbix Server is not getting data.

    We are using zabbix 2.0.2 server and all our agents are also 2.0.2

    Our Zabbiz Server IP Address is 10.100.100.1 and its hostname is “zabbix.geo.com”. On a client machine with IP 10.100.100.21 and with host name “pc.geo.com” we have installed zabbix agent.

    In zabbix server we have enabled auto registration and on operations we have enabled Template OS Linux.

    In client (pc.geo.com ) we have enabled Active checks and we can see the domain pc.geo.com on Zabbix Server Hosts Lists ( i can see in GUI) . But in zabbix server we are not getting any data's from this client.

    Currently the port 10051 is closed in client machine.

    Please see the configuration file on pc.geo.com
    vi zabbix_agentd.conf

    StartAgents=0
    ServerActive=10.100.100.1
    Hostname=pc.geo.com

    When we add the host manually in zabbix server and adding Server=10.100.100.1 and opening port 10051 in client it is working fine. We are getting data's.

    Please let us know if we need to do any additional configuraiin etc.. Please help us on it.

    On the template (items you use) check if you switch Type to "Zabbix Agent (Active)"

      Thank you very much.

      We are able to fix the issue by changing Type to "Zabbix agent active" on Item of the particular template.
