Monitoring used bandwith, trigger above %

Is it possible to monitor a DSL Router`s bandwith, where you get a trigger as soon as the utilization is above 70% of the defined capasity?

If your router has cmd-interface (telnet, ssh) or allow snmp - then yes, it is possible but you will have to write script for it
