which USB GSM MODEM to use ?

Hi,

I would like to send sms messages with a USB GSM modem.
I assume it is possible ?
Does anybody has experience with installing a USB GSM modem in Linux/zabbix ?
If so, can you help me choosing which one is known by linux and easy to install and use ?

I'm not sure which you should go for, but I would avoid any Huawei modems

A lot of them (including mine) suffer from a bug with zabbix which sends out tripple sms's. We need to use external scripts (very easy to setup!), but it's still a hassle.

Research and search usb_modeswitch, you may 'play' with any USB3G you have
Install usb_modeswitch by yum or compile from source

But absolutely, if USB3G supported by default system is better
