Zabbix SNMP monitoring of Backup Exec 2012

I am seeking assistance on setting up Zabbix to monitor SNMP traps from Backup Exchange 2012.

I am completely new to Zabbix, and my understanding of how to achieve this may be wide of the mark, so I would appreciate any pointers/advice to get me on track as its not pulling any data from my backup server.

I have enabled SNMP Service on Backup Exec, and have set the available SNMP alerts to trigger within BE itself.

I have created a clone of the built in template Template_SNMPv2 which I am working from. I have created a Item named 'BackupExecLiveUpdateInfo' (as Im basing my testing on the Live Update function), and have obtained the OID 1302.3.1.5.6.1.3 from within BE help file. I have created the Item as per the image I have attached to this post.

I have not created any triggers, as I chose the Store Value 'As Is' with the thinking that it will report on the polled status as opposed to a trigger. I have created triggers in testing, but was unable to get it to work despite this.

If anyone can provide assistance I would be grateful as Ive spent several hours trying to get this to work.

    A couple of things:

    1. Are you able to do an snmpget of that OID from your zabbix server and get the desired data?
    2. Does the SNMP item show up with an error? (If you go to Configuration -> Hosts -> yourhost -> Items the checkmark under the "error" column should be green)

Also the full OID looks to be 1.3.6.1.4.1.1302.3.1.5.6.1.3 (just from googling, but I got it from http://www.oidview.com/mibs/1302/Backup-Exec-MIB.htm) Not sure if that would be an issue or not.

Just some additional information - if your backup application run on a windows server, you can easily extend your monitoring by using the perfconters feature in zabbix:
      http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/...s/perfcounters

I use it for monitoring of exchange, mssql etc. - there is templates here in the forum etc.
