    Zabbix architecture advice for AWS

Hi there, been using Zabbix for a few months now and loving it

Am running a basic 2.0.2 server / agent setup on Debian but want to move the server to AWS and use the pfSense firewall/s to proxy (v1.8.n) over a VPN to an AWS VPC

Also running Java Gateway, SNMP and Orabbix with some custom stuff - very ordinary setup am sure

Have heard of Mikoomi but it kind of implies (?) you need to run an Appliance which I would prefer not to do since it has limited capabilities and I want the full server

I guess my question is which Amazon EC2 AMI distro to use for best success and which cloud model?

I suspect the latter will be a private VPC with a VPN but would really appreciate any advice on the distro part too.

    Many thanks, Phil

Bump on this I am looking at putting a node outside our corporate network

trying to decide weather its a node or proxy, thinking former. Trying to think weather ec2 is the way to go or to get a VPS.

Any one had any expereince with setting up zabbix on EC2 ?

Further to this, we're now using a proxy quite successfully and after some research into AWS VPC access via SSH, it looks like the better option will be a VPN to each of the corporate sites.

Are you trying to monitor EC2 or monitor from EC2/AWS?

Same here so we're looking at a VPC/VPN for Zabbix server (public web / private db) to proxies on our various sites
