Monitor disks rather than drive letters?

    Hi,

Im just getting my head round Zabbix and all is going well so far.

I would like to setup a discovery in the windows template that will check for disks (disk 0, disk 1, etc) rather than drive letter such as D:.

On most of our server we have a software raid setup so checking the D: could still bring back no error if one disk went down.

Also the backups are completed using windows server backup to a dedicated disk so this doesnt have a drive letter either.

    Is this possible?

    Many thanks?

    perf_counter

    The perf_counter item key.

You can get lots of information about logical disks, physical disks (and millions of other things) out of Windows "performance counters", there is a manual chapter about this.

But personally, I find it a tedious task, to say the least, figuring out what object names you want. There are hundreds of them, and on each language version of Windows they are called differently.
It is for anybody who really is into the guts of Microsoft Windows!

    Greetings, Jerry

      Thanks for your reply.

So basically Zabbix monitor cant monitor if a disk exists or not.

      Great.
