Zabbix agent trigger notification

Hi,

I'm having a little bit of problem with zabbix agent trigger.

I'm getting to much notifications witch is practically talking about same thing.

I want to receive e-mail notification, only when ICMP ping trigger is down and checked 3 times.

I'll already done dependency between these two triggers, but i'm still getting too much e-mail's, when doing some hardware maintenance

If I understand your question correctly, what you want to do should be done with one trigger.

Assume for now that your zabbix item is set to poll every 2 minutes. It will then take 6 minutes to poll three times.

Your trigger should be written so that it activates when there have been no successful pings over the last 6 minutes. I would even play it safe and use seven minutes.

Your trigger expression should be something like:

{server:icmpping[].max(7m)}=0

This will trigger when the last three pings - over the past 6 minutes - have all failed.
