email notification in specific time periods

Can anyone direct me to a source that will explain how to configure an email notification to be sent in a specific time period?

I want to create two actions that will send an email notification during two different time period to two different emails. Each action is activated by the same trigger.

    Example:
Action 1 - Daytime. Sends email notification to [email protected]
Action 2 - Nightime. Sends email notification to [email protected]

To date I have been unsuccessful in achieving this. Action 1 sends notifications out 24/7.

Any help/direction would be greatly appreicated.

I thank you in advance for your assistance.

probably the way I would do it...

Go to Administration --> Users and select the users you are working with, edit their media settings and change the "When active" settings accordingly.

      Thank you.
I've tried this a multitude of times with no success.
Any other suggestions of elements I may have overlooked?

I haven't used this function in actions yet, but go back to your actions for these alerts and go to the "Conditions" tab. (This may depend on what version of Zabbix you have). Looks like you can add this condition to your action:
(Note that there is an "in" and "not in" modifier available in the dropdown boxes)

          I do appreciate the suggestion
But I've tried that one too.
          It's a mystery to me.
I would not have thought it to be as challenging as it as turned out to be.
          My Zabbix version is 1.8.1.

That is a relatively older version of Zabbix. You might want to start looking at the release notes starting at 1.8.1 and do a keyword search on each progressive version increment within the 1.8.x structure and see if maybe there was a bug fix to that.

I would simply do a CTRL + F on each page and search for things like "trigger" or "notifications" or "period", etc.

            Release notes are located here:

              Very good suggestion.
              Thank you.
              I will research that now.

                So now I am curious...

Are you sending the alerts to a single user, or a group of users?

What is your configuration for the "When Active" in the media settings for these users?

here are guidelines, which you have probably already seen...

Yeah, I know this one is from 2.0 manual...
