failed first network error wait for 15 seconds

    Hello,
Out of the blue it seems my zabbix server is having problems conneting to one of the agents. This happened suddenly, without any modifications to the server or agent.

From the zabbix server the agent is reachable just fine on port 10050, i can telnet to the port and whatnot.

This is what i get in the zabbix server's logs:

5746:20121029:070227.364 resuming Zabbix agent checks on host [pbb-web02]: connection restored
5743:20121029:070302.609 Zabbix agent item [web.page.get[127.0.0.1,,8080]] on host [pbb-web02] failed: first network error, wait for 15 seconds
5746:20121029:070342.588 Zabbix agent item [web.page.get[127.0.0.1,,8080]] on host [pbb-web02] failed: another network error, wait for 15 seconds
5746:20121029:070357.592 resuming Zabbix agent checks on host [pbb-web02]: connection restored

Any idea what could be causing this? I increased the the timeout on the agent and server to 25sec but that didn't change anything. Also a restart of the zabbix server and agent didn't do anything.

Any help would be appreciated, cause right now i'm getting spammed with email alerts.

    Thanks.

Ok, this is pretty weird. It seems that the auto discovery rule for the network interface is not working on this machine. Even though i have another identical machine monitored by zabbix, with exactly the same templates on it, it's just this one that has problems.

Also, while monitoring is enabled on this machine my Queue seems to be increasing, which can be seen clearly on the zabbix server performance graph. Also, the time this graph jumps up is the same time the problems started on this one machine.

Turns out the problem was actually with the tomcat i was monitoring and the regexp, so not a zabbix issue.
