Hi all,
I'm looking for a solution on this scenario.
I would like to monitor /var/log/*.log on my customer's remote site.
I found that many of *.log files has lack of permission for Zabbix user account for unknown reasons; Beyond that, there are some log files missing, although Zabbix has been trying to monitor them. We can monitor the other log files just fine.
I know we can always tell that 1) permission is denied or 2) the file is missing, through Zabbix-agentd.log.
The problem is that we do not get to know that either the log files do not have permissions or they are simply missing, by the alert. I believe no alert would be fired for non-existence or the wrong permission of the subjects.
In this scenario, is it possible to make the Zabbix fire the alert for 1) and 2)?
If it is not, do you have any idea to let people know that the log monitoring is not working?
Thank you in advance,
