    Confused

    I just found out about Zabbix and because i think it is a great tool...I wanted to install it. However I found the installation kind of confusing..so I want to ask you guys some questions:

    The project that I work on is in PL/SQL and I have an oracle database which runs on a Windows7 server...
    1. At the download page, http://www.zabbix.com/download.php i see that for windows you only have "agents".. and Zabbix Sources
    (Server, Proxy, Agent, GUI) are a .tar file..so they can only be used on linux...SO can you only install zabbix on linux?

    2. What are the agents for?

    Zabbix server can be installed on any Unix platform, but not Windows.

    Zabbix agents are lightweight agents that can be deployed to any platform, (including Windows) and do the basic data gathering on the monitored host, which then transfers the data to Zabbix server.
