Windows Agent asking for config

Hi All,

Is there any way to set Windows Agent or Zabbix server so that agent is asking for configuration?

At the moment we have Windows Agent behind firewall and we cant monitor anything on in because of firelwall.

If I use zabbix_sender I cant configure what information can be collected on server, I have to create request locally on the Windows Agent machine

Is there any easy way arround so that Zabbix Agent is asking for configuration rather then waiting for it?

if I understand your needs correctly, it sounds like Zabbix agent (Active) is what you want. Your monitored host will talk to the Zabbix server to get the list of items it should be checking.

Try it and see if it works. You will need to set the items to "Type" Zabbix agent (Active). On your host, if you are using Zabbix 2.0.x, there is a field for ServerActive= in zabbix_agentd.conf... make sure that you have that field filled out with your Zabbix server information (IP or DNS)

Lastly, for active agents to work, you must have the Hostname= field in your zabbix_agentd.conf be a perfect match for the name of the host as you have it in Zabbix frontend, including spelling and case sensitive.

if you make any changes to zabbix_agentd.conf, be sure to restart the agent.
