    Calculated Items "Running Total"

I hope someone has done this before.
But I have a Item check that counts the number of files in a folder.
Obviously as the day progresses this count goes up and down.

What I would like is a Daily Running Total of Plus changes.
The end result is a Total Count of New files that were counted in X folder for this period of time.

To add more clarity, the folder is a temporary holding location for files to be processed and will empty out through out the day. I just want a Grand Total of What was in this folder for Today.

    Thanks

Do new files appear and then disappear? To me the easiest solution sounds like checking the number of files in /dir once a day and storing the value as a delta.

      Calculated Item

Yes files come and go all day long, typically by mid day it should be empty and will begin to fill up during the morning hours.

      Simple breakdown.
A PDF is dropped in a Folder
A process renames and moves the PDF into this new Folder "Queue"
Another process will begin to work on the file and once completed the file will be moved to a processed folder (What I might do is just count the processed folder, but this is a bit more complicated based on what it comprises of)

So I currently count each pdf file and have a current zabbix file count, but what I would like is a Running Total for every +1 that is added it adds to this running total.
