Record value of Dynamic IP using hostname

Hi all,
I have a situation where I have a remote wan connection with a dynamic IP address. The connection has a no-ip.org dynamic DNS address that I can monitor it through but I would like to set something up in zabbix to actually record the IP address that has been assigned to the connection over time as an item.

Can anyone give me any tips?

zabbix agent?

Does this device use a zabbix agent? If so, you can define a UserParameter which reads the ip-address from the system.

If you monitor it through snmp, you can pick it up from an SNMP OID.
