we are monitoring network ports status on our switches and i'm wondering if there is a way to send the port description along with the port status in the email.
The trigger is generated on the port status going down but i have no way to send the port description as it's obviously not linked to the port status and it's not a trigger. The idea is to know which client is impacted when the port goes down (it's clearer to see port gig1/12 is down on 3750-cabinetA - Client XXX than just the port reference)
I could of course create an action with the proper information for each ports but as you can imagine we have a lot of ports and doing this port by port will take a lot of time (not to mention that if you change the description you have to change the action as well to reflect this change)
If someone has an idea on how to do that, it would be a big help
