Size of history_log.ibd is too large.

For our zabbix server mysql database size is becoming very large. Please see the tables with largest size:

    7.3G history_log.ibd
    1.2G history_uint.ibd
    721M history.ibd

Please whats the difference between history_log.ibd and history.ibd?

If we clear any of these three tables it will affect our data?

Also let us know can we clear history_log.ibd table and it will affect our data?

Please let us know the best practices to be done to reduce the database size in zabbix.

Please help us on it .
    Thanks

    Here's a few things:

    1. That is not as large as you think . That's pretty small actually compared to a large number of installations.

    2. The history tables in Zabbix are divided into the various item storage types. History_ log is for history from log items.

    3. History_uint is for history from unsigned integer items.

    4. If you delete data from history tables then you lose history data. Zabbix will no longer show information for the history you deleted.

    5. You will not get any disk space back by just removing data from tables due to the way that InnoDB works.

    6. Unless you are really short on disk space, I wouldn't even worry about the table size you gave. That's a fairly small size.
