What Does the $1 Mean in Item Prototype Name?

Hi,

According to the manual, when creating item prototypes, the name include a $1 variable, not a macro like {#FSNAME}. I did some googling and it says $1 is a positional variable, which confuses me more.

There was a plan to drop support for these in 4.0, but apparently that decision was reverted. Let's see whether some more information is shared in https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBXNEXT-4591 .
