    Zabbix -> VMWare

    Hello guys,

    I would like to make a vmware image of my Zabbix installation so anybody could run vmware player in the windows machine and use this image. Is it possible? I would think of sth. very similar to the Zabbix Appliance, but with my templates, value mappings, ...

    What should I do?

      It seems we would like to install Zabbix Appliance, implement several templates and so to the template and recreate the image.

      1. Can it be done? Doesn't it break any license?

      2. How many units can be operated in the zabbix appliance? It's not intended for the serious production, but it should be capable of something of course... Why isn't Zabbix Appliance intended to be used in the serious production at all? Or do you think that better way is to do the image from the regular installation rather than Appliance?

          It depends. http://www.zabbix.com/policy.php has a lot of examples.

          I think they setup the appliance in a very lazy way without any optimizations, security and at least enough disk space for serious use. So I think the better way is to build your own appliance, which is quite easy.
