Template in host group not flowing through

Hi

I have create a template with my notification options. I have applied it to a host group and then added hosts.

In one host group the application names in the template have flowed through . in the other 2 host groups the application names haven't flowed through.

Not sure how to trouble shoot this

Um maybe we have wires crossed not sure how my actions screen has anything to do with the current problem.

Myabe let me try and re type my problem.

So I have a template that has lots of applications created in it.
I attach this template to specific "host groups"
In one host group say zxy
I add server a1

When i check the application names on server/host a1 I can see all the application names that I have defined in my template.

On another host group say abcd
I add server p1

when i check the application names on server p1, none of the application names I have defined in the template are there.

I had hoped that I could apply this template by assigning it to a host group and then all he servers/hosts that get added to the group will get the stuff from the template.

its just strange it works from couple of host groups and not for some others !

Hmmm

now that i think about it maybe host groups aren't meant for that !

had a quick check of the manual.

I will have to recheck my host definition and make sure that template wasn't added before.

I was originally testing by adding the template to individual host. I had hoped to simplify it by attaching it to host groups

Yeah, templates are only applied to hosts. You can't apply a template to a host group.
