    Snmp timed out

    Hi there, I' having problem when my hosts monitored reaches more than 20. When I use the SNMP template, it always timed out. It was still ok when I have only 10 devices monitored. What seems to be the problem here?
    TIA!

        Hello, can anyone help me. I'm having snmp timeout on routers on far remote locations but when I snmpwalk there seems to have no error. TIA

          I have the same problem, when I use the command on the console;

          snmpwalk IPADDRESS public

          I get the message;

          snmpwalk: Timeout

          ----

          When I use the command;

          snmpwalk -v 1 -c public IPADDRESS

          I get the right output.

          How can i change the snmpwalk execution inside zabbix?

            You can specify a snmp version 1 check as part of your Item in zabbix, sound s like that will help.

              there was a bug (not sure if it is still in zab 1.1) where if another item type existed for a pure SNMP device (like a switch) then all the items would fail with a timeout.

              this is actually pretty easy to do if somebody defines something and hits the "add to all" button.

              I'd check both the template and your individual devices for non-snmp items that may have gotten stuck in there.

                SNMP Timeout

                Hi;

                There are two things that need to be implemented:

                1. Is to have a timeout field by host.
                Because no every device will respond on 10, 15, 20 seconds depending on the network and if the device is busy.

                2. The community string have to be by host no by item, and the item get the community from the host.

                Because if you have a item that have certain community string you have to reset the community string on all the devices. This is not a complex task if you have 10 or 20 devices but if you have more than 100 like an ISP, this is a long way run & tedious.
