    Web Monitoring Problems

Ok so I created a new host group called "Remote Hosts." I then created a host for a website I wanted to monitor.

Then I made an application and a web scenario

And I created a step for that scenario

And I created a Trigger for that scenario

However, the scenario keeps saying that it cant resolve the hostname. and the trigger is saying there is a problem.

However when I do a ping from zabbix, it pings just fine.

So mostly its just really confusing as to why it can ping just fine, but the scenario fails...

    any help is appreciated.

Try http://nusalaska.com/ in step "Home page".

Just got back around to this problem. I tried adding the Http:// but that still has not fixed the problem. Any other suggestions. I am completely baffled. I can go to my zabbix server console and physically open up firefox and get to http://nusalaska.com/ and it will open just fine... not sure what the web monitoring is getting wrong.

There is a file /etc/resolv.conf (in debian, ubuntu) with resolv config. try to nslookup google.com or dig google.com from zabbix server.

Check for /etc/hosts file too ,you can hard code the IP address to hostname resolution for your server and specify in /etc/nsswitch.conf specify

              hosts files dns
( meaning look for resolution in files i.e /etc/hosts and then go search for dns )

              This should work
