Monitor the internal monitoring server from external

I want to monitor the internal zabbix server from an external (public IP) vhost zabbix server.

Because I want to be sure that the internal zabbix server is still alive...

Is there any best practice method for that?

I was thinking about a simple mailing script, wich is sending every 30sec a mail from the internal zabbix system to the external.

If the external zabbix server is not receiving a mail from the internal zabbix server, then the external zabbix server will trigger an alert

If network rules allow, you can ping server or verify zabbix port availability...
Zabbix can a do lot of interesting things (https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...tems/itemtypes).

But my problem is, that the internal zabbix server (10.x.x.x) is not reachable from external, so I can only build something from internal zabbix server to monitor the external (public IP address).
